Marvin Rabin Legacy Society
Leave a Legacy
A gift to WYSO’s future doesn’t have to wait. Through a planned gift — a bequest in your will, a beneficiary designation, or another gift from your estate — you can help make sure the next generation of young musicians has the same opportunities that shaped generations before them.
The Marvin Rabin Legacy Society honors the donors who have chosen to support WYSO this way. We’d be honored to welcome you.
Why Planned Giving Matters
WYSO’s endowment exists so that great music education never depends on any single year’s fundraising. Every planned gift added to it is invested and preserved — only the income is ever spent — which means a single gift keeps giving, year after year, indefinitely. A bequest of $25,000, for example, generates roughly $1,000 in support every year, in perpetuity: enough for a partial scholarship or a season of instrument upkeep for one student, funded forever.
Many of the most meaningful legacy gifts cost nothing today. Naming WYSO as a beneficiary on a retirement account, IRA, or life insurance policy takes about ten minutes, requires no attorney, and can be changed anytime your circumstances do. It’s simply a way of saying: this mattered to me, and I want it to matter for the students who come next.
Sample Bequest Language
If you’re working with an attorney to include WYSO in your estate plans, here is sample language you may wish to use:
I hereby give, devise, and bequeath to the Wisconsin Youth Symphony Orchestras, [the sum of $_____] OR [_____ percent (%) of the rest, residue and remainder of my estate] to be used to support WYSO’s endowment at the time the gift is received.
