Postponed: Derek Powell Virtual Masterclass
The Derek Powell Virtual Masterclass, originally scheduled for Sunday, January 23, has been postponed until later in the spring.
A WYSO Alumnus, Derek Powell is a versatile violinist and recording artist, as comfortable on-stage performing alternative styles as he is uncovering the subtleties of the great classical works. Currently based in Washington, D.C., Derek performs with the National Symphony Orchestra. The masterclass is free and open for the public to virtually attend. Registration is required.
Percussion Extravaganza!
The WYSO PERCUSSION EXTRAVAGANZA is an exciting and high energy musical event featuring amazing student and professional percussionists from the Madison area and beyond! Performers will include the Wisconsin Youth Symphony Orchestras Percussion Ensemble, the WYSO Percussion Pilots, the UW-Madison Graduate and World Music Percussion Ensembles, and the Packers Tundra Line, the official drumline of the Green Bay Packers.

You are invited to attend the 2022 Bolz Family Concert Series: Youth Orchestra Concert. This concert will be a special end-of-year event, taking place at the beautiful Hamel Music Center on the UW campus. The Youth Orchestra will play four works in the concert, all conducted by Maestro Kyle Knox.The concert will feature the Youth Orchestra Concerto Competition winner, Ava Kenney, playing the violin.The event is open to the public and tickets are now on sale at Campus Arts Ticketing, $10 for children and $20 for adults.

You are invited to attend the 2022 Bolz Family Concert Series— Philharmonia Orchestra concert. The concert will be a wonderful end-of-year event, taking place in the beautiful Hamel Music Center. The WYSO Philharmonia Orchestra will perform in a special side-by-side concert with the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra. One of the works will feature Katarina Kenney on cello. Katarina won the Philharmonia Orchestra Concerto Competition last February. Tickets are now on sale at Campus Arts Ticketing. $10 for children and $20 for adults.
