WYSO HONORS RECITAL

February 26, 2022 @ 7:00 pm

You are invited to a unique performance on Saturday, February 26 at 7:00 in the evening. The Honorable Mention musicians in the WYSO Concerto Competition will perform their concertos in this special recital at the Oakwood Village-University Woods Center for Arts and Education. The event is free and open to the public.

Philharmonia Orchestra Competition – Musicians and Repertoire

  • Caroline Sax (oboe) – Concerto in C minor, Mvt I and II by Benedetto Marcello
  • Monroe Durand (viola) – Suite for Viola and Orchestra, Group One, Mvt I by Vaughan Williams
  • Eunice Chung (cello) – Elegie, op. 24 by Gabriel Faure
  • Lorenz Fradkin-Annen (violin) – Violin Concerto in C major, op. 48, Mvt III by Dmitry Kabalevsky 

Youth Orchestra Competition – Musicians and Repertoire

  • Jasper Chambreau (bass)  – Double Bass Concerto, Mvt I by Serge Koussevitzky
  • Flynn Ewer (horn)  – Horn Concerto No. 1 in E-flat major, op.11, Mvt I by Richard Strauss
  • Ethan Ewer (violin) – Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso, op. 28 by Saint Saëns
  • Sage Eckard-Lee (viola) – Viola Concerto in D major, Mvt I by Franz Anton Hoffmeister

COVID-19 Protocols

Oakwood Village Covid protocols will be in place today and attendees will be required to answer COVID-19 questions on kiosks as they enter the building. It might be wise to arrive a few minutes early.If you currently have COVID-19 symptoms, are recovering from COVID-19, or if you have been in close (and unmasked) contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, you are asked not to attend. Masks are required.
