Percussion EXTRAVAGANZA!

Witness the wonders of our Percussion Ensemble! They will perform at the Middleton Performing Arts Center on April 20th from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.

The Percussion Ensemble Repertoire will include:

Lasting Hope, a fully improvised piece composed live during the performance

Fractalia by Owen Clayton Condon (b. 1978)

Song of Hope by Peter Aloysius Meechan (b. 1980), in memory of those lost to cancer and all cancer survivors (with the Lalita Woodwind Quintet, WYSO Strings, WYSO Brass, and The Isthmus Handpan Quartet)

The UW-Madison Chamber Percussion Ensemble repertoire will include:

Suite Norte Sul Leste Oeste by Hermeto Pascoal (b. 1936) arr. by Roger Braun

The Isthmus Handpan Quartet Repertoire will include:

The Space Between by Chris Watral (b. 1994)

Growing Splendor by Maxwell Edison (b. 1992)

Duality by Robert Rockman (b. 1999)

Mendota Sunset by The Isthmus Handpan Quartet

Tapestry, a World Premiere by Robert Rockman and Chris Watral (with the WYSO Percussion Ensemble)

The Music Makers Percussion Ensemble repertoire will include:

Passing Time by Bradley Fremder (b. 1998)

Elmore Lawson’s repertoire will include:

Wendeyaho, Olele, Fanga, Heyo Lay Lay & Dideho by Elmore Lawson (b. 1976)

UW-Madison World Percussion Ensemble repertoire will include:

Maracatu by UW-Madison World Percussion Ensemble

All Performers will join together to play:
