Megumi Kanda was appointed Principal Trombone of the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra in 2002, and is an internationally acclaimed performer, teacher, and author.

The Derek Powell Virtual Masterclass, originally scheduled for Sunday, January 23, has been postponed until later in the spring.
A WYSO Alumnus, Derek Powell is a versatile violinist and recording artist, as comfortable on-stage performing alternative styles as he is uncovering the subtleties of the great classical works. Currently based in Washington, D.C., Derek performs with the National Symphony Orchestra. The masterclass is free and open for the public to virtually attend. Registration is required.
WYSO is excited to announce a unique performance on Saturday, February 26 at 7:00 in the evening. The Honorable Mention competitors in the WYSO Concerto Competition will be performing their concertos in this special concert at the Oakwood Village-University Woods Center for Arts and Education.
