Frequently Asked Questions
What you can expect
At the WYSO Center for Music, we know that putting on a big event or finding space for practice or lessons can be stressful. So, we’ve aimed to make booking space with us as worry-free as possible.
When you reserve space with us, we walk you through a simple, straightforward process from the moment you reach out to us to the day of your event and beyond. And the entire time, we’ll work hard to meet your needs and answer any questions you may have at every stage of the journey.
Let us know what you’re looking for
When you contact us, we’ll reach out to schedule a brief, no-pressure consultation. We’ll want to know how you heard about us, when you’d like to schedule your event, how many participants you plan to host, and the nature of your event, and if you’d like to come by for a tour of the WYSO Center.
Next, we’ll have a space or two to recommend for you based on your general needs. Then, we’ll want to discuss any furniture setup you’d like and any technical requirements you have for your event. The WYSO Center has a variety of tables and chairs available for your use, so you’ll have plenty of options.
And although the WYSO Center does not currently offer in-house catering services, the facility is equipped with two kitchenettes and an easy-to-access loading dock in case you’d like to work with a catering service of your choice. (We can offer recommendations for some great caterers in town.)
Finalizing your dates
Once we’ve discussed your needs and provided you with a clear and surprise-free quote, we’ll send you the WYSO Center’s rental agreement. Just review and sign and send the document back to us within 5 business days to secure your rental space.
Arrive at the WYSO Center ready for a great event!
When you arrive at the WYSO Center on the day of your event, you’ll be greeted at the door by a WYSO Center staff member. We’ll confirm that you’ve parked somewhere where your vehicle will be free from parking restrictions.
We’ll show you to your rental space and make sure that everything has been prepared satisfactorily based on the terms of the rental agreement.
During your event, a WYSO Center staff member will periodically check to see if you have any further needs when appropriate. And if for any reason you need something at any time, there will always be a WYSO Center staff member close by.
After your event
After your event has concluded, we’ll follow up with you to ask how everything went! We’re always aiming to improve your experience the next time you rent from us.
Finally, we’ll send you an invoice within 2-3 days after your event has ended.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is parking available at the Wyso Center?
The WYSO Center for Music does have a small parking lot less than a block away from our front entrance. This lot is big enough to accommodate a few dozen guests.
However, if you have more than a few dozen guests you’ll want to find available street parking. The WYSO Center for Music sits squarely within Madison’s Tenney-Lapham neighborhood, which has plenty of side street parking within a short walk’s distance from WYSO. You may want to allow yourself a little time to find parking prior to your event.
Does the WYSO Center have furniture available for rent?
The WYSO Center for Music has plenty of long tables of various sizes. Our standard table is a flip-top (1 1/2 feet x 5 feet). We also have plenty of folding leg conference tables (2 feet x 6 feet). And we have plenty of standard music rehearsal chairs which function well for catered events.
Does my room have an Audio/Visual system?
Yes! All our large rehearsal rooms are outfitted with a computer, projector and screen, audio system, microphones, and cameras. Our Mid-Size Meeting Rooms are tech-compatible as well – most have projectors and screens, audio amplification systems and sound systems. Every room is different though, so we suggest speaking in-depth about technology needs with a WYSO Center for Music staff member.
Does the WYSO Center for Music provide wireless internet
Yes, the WYSO Center has high-speed Internet.
Are there elevators? A loading dock? A kitchen?
The WYSO Center for Music has two elevators, two kitchenettes (1st and 2nd floor), and a loading dock located on the North side of the building.
Can I hire a third-party vendor to cater my event?
Yes! Even though the WYSO Center for Music does not offer in-house catering at this time, those who rent space at WYSO are free to reserve either of our two kitchenettes. The WYSO Center also has a loading dock for conveniently loading in food and other supplies for your event.
Be sure to mention to WYSO Center staff that you’re planning to cater your event and we’ll take care of the rest!
