Event Description
WYSO’s Philharmonia Orchestra joins the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra for a special side-by-side performance featuring professional and student musicians sharing the stage in an evening of thrilling orchestral masterworks.
The program includes Shostakovich’s exuberant Festive Overture, Bernstein’s dazzling Three Dance Episodes from On the Town, and selections from Dvořák’s beloved New World Symphony. The concert also features Philharmonia Concerto Competition winner Ayla Varney, violin, performing the first movement of Bach’s Violin Concerto in A minor.
This inspiring collaboration offers audiences a unique opportunity to witness mentorship, artistry, and musical excellence in action as rising young musicians perform alongside professional orchestral artists.
