In the Philharmonia Orchestra -Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra side-by-side performance, the following repertoire will be performed:
Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2 by Franz Liszt, arranged by Karl Muller-Berghaus
Symphonie Espagnole in D minor, Op. 21, Mvt. 1 by Edouard Lalo (with Lorenz Fradkin-Annen, violin)
Romeo and Juliet Fantasy Overture by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky
A Note about Lorenz Fradkin Annen: WYSO student violinist Lorenz Fradkin Annen won the WYSO Phiharmonia Orchestra Concerto Competition by competing with the Symphonie Espagnole in D minor, Op. 21, Mvt. 1 by Edouard Lalo. Lorenz is a 12-year-old eighth grade student at Oregon Middle School in Oregon, WI. Renz had her solo debut in November 2023 with the Madison Symphony Orchestra, giving five performances after winning their Fall Youth Concerto competition.
This past summer she was a finalist in the Interlochen Intermediates concerto competition. She has also earned two WSMA Exemplary Performance awards, and won awards in the Nie Young Artist Scholarship Competition (violin) and the Rhapsody Arts Center Sonatina Festival (piano). She plays bassoon and violin in Philharmonia and has also served as concertmaster. In addition to WYSO she studies piano with Vincent Fuh, bassoon with Carol Rosing, and performs in MadFiddle, a Madison violin ensemble led by Shauncey Ali. Renz would like to thank her current violin teacher Eugene Purdue and her former teacher Maureen McCarty. The WYSO Concerto Competition was sponsored by Aaron and Natalie Zutz.

The Concert will be preceded by a Partners In Music reception (5:30-6:45) that will honor the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra, who will be performing in a side-by-side performance with the Philharmonia Orchestra as well as composer Kevin Day, whose World Premiere of Dancing Fire III for Andrew George will be premiered at the 4:00 Percussion and Concert Orchestra Spring Bolz Family Concert.
