Janet Lyu

Janet Lyu is a Korean-American violinist who is in her first year of doctoral studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison under the tutelage of David Perry. She was a WYSO student from 1998-2000 and is a graduate of Shorewood Hills Elementary School. She was subsequently a member of the Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestras and later the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestras. After graduating from the University of Michigan, Janet was an active freelance musician in the state of Michigan and she is still a tenured first violinist with the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra. She is so thrilled to be back in Madison and working with the talented and dedicated students and parents of WYSO.
