Community Partnerships & Venue Coordinator – On-site, 32 hours/week
Wisconsin Youth Symphony Orchestras (WYSO) is seeking Events and Community Engagement Manager to lead rentals and events at our new WYSO Center for Music and to serve as the face of WYSO in the community. This is a new and exciting role where you will help transform a beautiful new building on Madison’s East Washington corridor, near Breese Stevens Field, The Sylvee, and the upcoming Madison Public Market, into a vibrant community hub. Join us in making a lasting impact on Madison’s arts and cultural community. Your contributions will include:
- Creating a strategy to attract and retain contracts for renting the building spaces.
- Actively prospecting new leads through networking, outreach, and engagement with the local business community.
- Cultivating relationships with businesses, associations, and organizations seeking meeting and event spaces.
- Developing and maintaining a sales pipeline of corporate and community clients.
- Responding to event inquiries.
- Creating tailored proposals and presentations that highlight the WYSO Center’s unique amenities for professional gatherings.
- Collaborating with the events team to ensure seamless handoff and client satisfaction from booking to execution, including providing estimates and executing contracts when necessary.
- Assisting with billing and invoice details as needed
- Representing the WYSO Center at networking events, business expos, and professional associations.
- Tracking sales activity and reporting on progress toward revenue and booking goals.
- Conducting professional tours of the facility for prospective clients, highlighting venue features and benefits.
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- High School diploma is required. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Business Development, Event Management, Hospitality, Public Relations, or related field are required.
- 3+ years of event management, corporate rentals, or community relations experience are preferred.
- Strong communication, outreach, social media, and customer service skills are required.
- High initiative and a passion for connecting with people is required.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
- Passion for music, arts, and community building is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to be organized, stay on task, and produce results is required.
- Strong proficiency Microsoft Office and Google Workspace are required.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English is required.
- This position requires the ability to speak, listen, sit, and work at a computer for extended periods. This position requires the ability to travel to prospective local clients.
In exchange for your talents in this 32 hours/week role, we are offering a salary range of $60,000.00 – $65,000.00 coupled with great benefits.
