The Series

The entire series will feature approximately 20 fabulous professional musicians, representing orchestras both near and far, with instruments including violin, viola, cello, bass, clarinet, trumpet, oboe, and bassoon. Beginning the weekend before Thanksgiving (November 21 and 22) and continuing through April of 2021, the Masterclasses will provide an experience for WYSO members unlike any other.

All WYSO members are invited to watch and learn from the classes, however active participation is limited to four WYSO Youth /Philharmonia musicians in each masterclass. Interested WYSO members should submit an online application with a link to a 5-minute video, preferably recorded with piano.

The Masterclasses are free and open to both the general public and the WYSO membership to observe.
During each Zoom Masterclass, WYSO will share each student’s recorded video with the Guest Artist and the Virtual Audience and the Guest Artist will respond to each WYSO member in turn, sharing tips and techniques they believe will help the member grow as a musician. Each participating member will have about 30 minutes with the Guest Artist, and each 30 minutes promises different stories and techniques.
