COVID-19 Addendum Update:

As we continue to follow the changing guidelines from the CDC, WYSO will now require members, staff, and volunteers who are exposed to someone who tests positive for COVID-19 to not attend any rehearsals that fall within 10 days since exposure. You are not allowed to attend rehearsals even if you test negative, experience no symptoms, or are fully vaccinated.

If you test positive for COVID-19 and have active symptoms, you will not be allowed to attend rehearsals. Per CDC guidelines, you can be around others after:

  • 10 days since symptoms first appeared and
  • 24 hours with no fever without the use of fever-reducing medications and
  • Other symptoms of COVID-19 are improving

If you test positive for COVID-19 but experience no symptoms, you will not be allowed to attend rehearsals until 10 days have passed since you had a positive viral test for COVID-19.

Out of precaution, any orchestra and/or chamber ensemble with a member or staff who tests positive for COVID-19 will be notified and will not rehearse the following weekend. During this hiatus, we encourage families to monitor their child for symptoms or consider testing for COVID-19. A decision will be made between administrative and artistic staff to determine if it is safe for the group return after one missed rehearsal.
