Heartland Marimba Quartet is a professional percussion ensemble dedicated to advancing the classical marimba through performance, education, and community outreach. Since 2014, Heartland Marimba has presented more than 200 concerts in over 50 cities, reaching thousands of students through educational programs while supporting new repertoire and emerging artists. Inspired by the legacy of marimba pioneer Claire Omar Musser, the ensemble is committed to sharing the beauty and expressive possibilities of the marimba with audiences and communities of all sizes.
During their visit to the WYSO Center for Music on Friday, March 20 at 4:30 PM, the quartet will lead a master class with WYSO percussion students, offering coaching and insights into ensemble playing and marimba performance. The event will conclude with a short demonstration and performance by the Heartland Marimba Quartet.
