About Youth Orchestra
Youth Orchestra was founded in 1966 and is WYSO’s premier orchestra, performing advanced orchestral literature. Members generally have several years of ensemble experience and perform individually at a pre-college or college level. Youth Orchestra is under the direction of Music Director Kyle Knox.
About the WYSO Chamber Orchestra
The WYSO Chamber Orchestra consists of approximately 35 students from Youth Orchestra. This group provides our members in Youth Orchestra more opportunities to perform advanced repertoire in a more intimate setting.
About the Youth Brass Choir
Conducted by Matthew Onstad, the WYSO Youth Brass Choir assists brass players in becoming proficient on their instruments, teaches sectional teamwork, and focuses on music written expressly for brass ensembles. All of these aspects contribute toward creating better orchestral musicians.
